And, last but not least, a wonderful Christmas song for worship and reflection.

May this be our prayer, always.

I’ll hold you in the beginning
You will hold me in the end
Every moment in the middle
Make my heart your Bethlehem
Be born in me

Finding Strength

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.” Eleanor Roosevelt

I have been praying that God will help me to be more fruitful in this new year. And it seems to me that overcoming fear is a step in the right direction.

To me, being fruitful is about growing and gathering. Digging deeper. Allowing God to speak to me through his word and through others who are doing the same. All of us who are His, like interwoven vines, planting seeds. Listening. Learning.

Seeking and Finding.

This week, I invite you to follow me to the Moonboat Cafe where Cassandra talks about How She Found Strength for the New Year.

Finding Laughter and New Friends in the New Year

This week, I found laughter to lighten my spirit. It came from this post from Debbie at Words on Wheels. They say laughter is the best medicine. Read Debbie’s post and see if you don’t instantly feel better.

If you have been visiting this blog but haven’t had time to introduce yourself, I hope you will accept this invitation to leave a short comment). It would be an honor to meet you.

And, if you’re already a friend, perhaps you might tell me some little-known fact about yourself so that I can get to know you better.

Maybe a prompt would help. Here’s a question for you…

What made you laugh out loud this week?

Guest bath: See the “lotion” I highlighted on the left?

I’ll share another source of laughter for me –  an embarrassing but amusing? moment that took place two days ago.

First, you need to know that I have been complaining to my husband about how dry my hands have been lately. In fact, I’ve been thinking that this is probably the most severe winter in memory as far as my dry, cracked hands are concerned.

Before our Christmas party, I had gone out and bought a couple of new bottles of hand lotion. One for the guest bathroom that matched the scent of the hand soap and one for our me to keep by the sink in our bathroom. This way, every single time I washed my hands I would be able to immediately douse them with a soothing, protective layer of lotion.

But two days ago, I washed my hands and found the lotion bottle missing! Seems my husband had swiped it to use as hand soap. “Bless his heart,” I thought to myself. Until I looked more closely at the bottle and realized that someone should be blessing MY heart. Because the lotion I have been using all this time is actually SOAP!!!
Please tell me I’m not the only one who has ever done this.

It DOES say “moisturizing” …

I told my husband and, after we both had a good laugh, he wasted no time mentioning once again that perhaps I should use my readers so I can see the fine print when I’m out shopping. And, I have to admit, it’s hard to argue with him after an episode like that.

Now it’s your turn. Is there something that made you laugh recently? Something that inspired you? If you can’t think of anything specific, how about just telling me a little something about yourself in the comment section below? I’d love to hear from you!

Vacation Update

My husband and I are blessed to be on vacation this week and I am finding the inspiring everywhere I look. I will post more about my adventures next week. Meanwhile I cannot stop praising God for the beauty of His creation and for giving me the ability to enjoy it.

I hope you are finding inspiration wherever you are today!

God is Faithful

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Today I am sharing a beautiful post by Debbie over at Words on Wheels who wrote about her personal experience with God’s faithfulness during difficult times. Her story inspired me and I know it will inspire you. Enjoy!
