Five Minute Encouragement

Today began with my husband reading me something about the things that help define us as human beings. One of those would be the words we whisper to ourselves about ourselves, true or untrue.

What we think about is important. Our thoughts have the power to help shape us.

Today, l hope this video encourages you to think differently about yourself. I hope it inspires you to not give up but, rather, to trust the Power within you.

Because, it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”  Philippians 2:13

Linking up with Lisa Jo for Five Minute Friday – We’re supposed to take five minutes to write about one word. The writing prompt today? You guessed it – Encouragement.

What do you think about the message of that video? Have you had a similar experience?

Trying to Get It Together

Okay, I’m trying this again. Even though it only heightens my awareness of how very slow I am at this writing thing. Maybe I over think it, which is precisely why I suppose I need to keep at it. Maybe one day I’ll get it together. (Sorry I couldn’t help myself.)

Today’s word prompt for Five Minute Friday is, you guessed it, “Together.” I’m also joining Freedom Fridays.

He goes away on another business trip.

I can’t wait until we’re together again.

Because being apart doesn’t feel right.

Together is how we were meant to be.

Connection. The ties that bind.

Sometimes they break and the heart aches.

Like when she went away to heaven.

Mother, I know we’ll be together again.

Connection. The ties that bind.

Nothing can split what’s born of spirit.

Jesus went away to prepare a place.

A place for us to dwell with him.

And when he returns, it will be as God always intended.

Us. His children. With Him forever.

Have a blessed day!

A Small Post on Five Minute Friday

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.”
Marianne Williamson

I don’t want to play small.

I don’t want to hide the light God has placed within me.

I want to shine.

To bring glory to the One who is glory.

The Creator of the universe.

The mover of mountains.

He lives in me.

I do not have to fear lesser powers because,

“Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
