“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31
I see it in a fallen feather. And in the hair turning inexplicably gray atop my mostly brown covered head. All around, there is evidence of age – the frailty of life becoming more real with the passing of hours.
But I am thankful today for a Heavenly Father who reveals His tender care in the pages of scripture.
And who writes words of love on the pages of my heart.
I know that the Creator of all – He who holds the world in His hands – is holding me.
And holding you.
And saying “Don’t be afraid.”
Father, thank you for speaking words of hope and comfort to us. And for reminding us that, since we are in your care, there is no need to fear.
It’s amazing how looking at a photograph can instantly transport you to another place. A momentary escape from wherever you might be to wherever you might rather be.
These are a few pics I wanted to share from a recent trip to San Antonio. I hope you enjoy your stroll along the Riverwalk through these photos!
Do you feel like you need an escape today? Me too. Let’s close our eyes together and see another picture – the one of our Heavenly Father, with arms wide open, reaching out to us.
He draws us in and holds us close to His heart and, there, He whispers words of comfort, love and peace. Can you hear Him?
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Thank you, Lord, that you are here with us – our shield when we need protection, our comfort when we need assurance, our escape when we need rest. Let us be encouraged by these truths. Amen
