While You’re Waiting

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
Lamentations 3:35

This song has been playing in my head today. It’s music for the hurting yet hopeful. An anthem for the waiting.

If that sounds like you, then you’re in good company. The Bible is full of stories of people who found themselves in that same scary place, straining their eyes in the pitch black, searching for God in the silence.

You can read the accounts of Noah and Moses and David and Job, who could be the poster boy of waiting, right on through to John the Baptist and Jesus himself.

And, at the end of the day, you’ll find a common theme. God is busy, even while we wait, working all things for our good. Because He is good.

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:14

I hope you’ll be blessed as you listen to this song, While I’m Waiting by John Waller.

You might also be encouraged by this powerful interview of John Waller talking about the writing of that song and his deliverance from depression.

What lessons have you learned from times of waiting in your life? Please share in the comments. You never know who might be inspired by your words.

  1. I feel I have been in a long season of waiting and still waiting. What have I learned? I have learned that God is God and I am not, and trust means believing without seeing more times than seeing. Thanks for the song.

    • Thank you Janette for sharing what you have learned during the waiting season. For the reminder that, even when we cannot see God, we can trust Him. Amen!

  2. Waiting
this then the time to lean harder into Him
He is there in the midle of the wait
we find more of Him in the wait than in our rush
